Récapitulatif du webinaire de la DDC : Le leadership dans l'éducation au niveau local : réflexion sur les pratiques des pays partenaires de la coopération internationale suisse

On the occasion of the Swiss Launch of the Global Education Monitoring Report 2024/5 (GEMR), which took place on 14 May 2025,  the E+E Network organized a webinar connecting Swiss perspectives on leadership in education with international insights from Chad, Ukraine and Switzerland. The discussions underscored the global relevance of the GEMR’s findings and the imperative to act on them locally.

The speakers emphasized that leadership should extend beyond those at the top, involving all actors across the system whose active collaboration must be fostered. Among these, parent-teacher associations are key partners, playing a critical role at the local level—including through financial contributions. Management executives serve as a “buffer” between stakeholders, making it essential for ministries to systematically implement both initial and continuous leadership training programs. Recommendations also include revisiting recruitment criteria for school leaders, recognizing that strong teaching skills do not necessarily translate into effective school leadership.
