As climate change intensifies, its impacts are being felt more frequently and deeply. Women in climate-vulnerable communities are particularly affected due to systemic inequities, yet their resilience and knowledge make their participation essential in addressing these challenges.

Nature-based solutions (NbS) are powerful tools for tackling the issues that come with climate change: increased extreme weather events, droughts, floods, forest fires. By protecting, conserving, restoring, and managing natural ecosystems, NbS address these challenges while simultaneously benefiting society and nature—and creating new economic opportunities through sustainable livelihoods.

This webinar launches a toolkit produced by the DCED Green Growth Working Group. The toolkit is a practical resource designed to integrate gender considerations into NbS initiatives, from planning to implementation and management. It demonstrates how economic growth can go hand-in-hand with achieving climate, biodiversity, and social equity objectives.

The webinar will be moderated by Kerry Max of Global Affairs Canada, with Keziah Ojal of Kounkuey Design Initiative, Rebekah Martin of Social Development Direct, and Sara Candiracci and Larissa Miranda Heinisch of Arup - who will share insights from both research and implementation of nature-based solutions. There will be an open Q&A so please come with your thoughts and questions!
