Local Economic Development (LED)

Local Economic Development (LED) is a strategy for promoting local economies as a way to fight poverty.  LED is a spatial approach to support income and employment opportunities in specific territories. LED integrates both economic and governance perspectives which are closely interlinked. Central actors in LED are: Government at all levels, but in particular local government; the private Sector including employers, industry associations, but as well civil society.
