Overnight stays in the Swiss hotel sector reached new record in 2024 summer season
Neuchâtel, 5.12.2024 - The Swiss hotel sector recorded 24.4 million overnight stays during the summer tourist season (from May to October 2024), the highest level ever observed. Compared with the same period last year, overnight stays increased by 1.6% (+395 000 overnight stays). With a total of 13.0 million overnight stays, foreign demand increased by 3.9% (+ 491 000). Demand from domestic visitors fell by 0.8% (−96 000) to 11.4 million units. These are provisional findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
