Online Event Series – Inclusive Green Economy
SDC has published two input papers, on Circular Economy and Green Skills, which serve as the foundation for a series of online exchanges organised in 2025 and 2026. The following gives an overview of the events and provides access to session recordings.
Adapting vocational skills development (VSD) to the ongoing challenges posed by climate change is essential to equip companies with the skills and competencies needed for a green transition. As a major donor, SDC plays a pivotal role in supporting partner countries to achieve their environmental goals. To clarify concepts and promote dialogue on the topic of inclusive green economies, SDC has published two input papers, on Circular Economy and Green Skills, which serve as the foundation for a series of online exchanges organised in 2025 and 2026. The following gives an overview of the events and provides access to session recordings.
Date: 15 April 2025
The webinar underscored the importance of skills development in enabling the transition to green and greener jobs, showcased practical approaches to adapting VSD systems to evolving green labour markets, and featured insights from project implementation. Discussions and project inputs from Albania, Mozambique and Cambodia reflected concepts elaborated in the SDC Input Paper on Green Skills.

As a follow up to the webinar, two clinics were organised to dig deeper into topics of interest to participants of the webinar on green skills, namely needs assessment and measurement of green skills.
1st Green Skills Clinic: Turning Insights to Implementation - How to Conduct a Market Needs Assessment on Green Skills?

This session focused on how to conduct a market needs assessments related to green skills. It provided participants with guidance on how to plan and carry out such assessments based on a methodology developed by Swisscontact, including defining the scope, selecting appropriate methodologies, and using the findings to inform project design decisions. The session also presented concrete examples of how assessment results guided decisions to integrate or not to integrate green skills into interventions in Laos and Ghana.

2nd Green Skills Clinic: Insights into Green Indicators and Measurement Tools
