Private sector engagement: The data

Due to the nature of PSE as a mutually carried out partnership with private sector actors, SDC is collecting additional financial data in a systematic manner to respond to questions such as: with what private sector partners are we working; or how much does the private sector contribute to our PSE? These are questions we are frequently asked from the public, media or parliament.

The PSE data is also an important tool for steering our PSE portfolio: as the financing needs to achieve the SDGs can only be met when we join forces with all actors, including private sector, SDC wants to be more strategic in its PSE approach.

The SDC uses the annual report process to gather financial information about our PSE portfolio through a digital tool. The summary of each operational unit’s PSE portfolio is an integral part of each unit’s Annual report, the so-called Annex 2.

The Annex 2 is collected digitally on the internal shareweb (internal only) by each operational unit at SDC, where an overview of the current PSE portfolio (internal only) can be accessed. This data allows SDC to contribute to the OECD’s database on Leveraging private finance for development
